BHOPAL: DIG Jail, Mansharam was suspended Tuesday in connection with the incident of eight SIMI activists escaping from the Bhopal Central Jail on October 31. Four officials have already been suspended in the jailbreak case. DG, Jail Sanjay Choudhary informed that the orders were issued by the state government.
The DIG was in-charge of the Bhopal Central Jail. He is charged with not taking his duties seriously. It is alleged that the officer did not conduct routine inspections of the jail as per the roster.
Earlier the government has suspended four officials including superintendent, deputy superintendent, assistant superintendent and a guard of the jail.

The government has also shunted out the additional director general ADG Jails Sushobhan Banerjee and attached him to the police headquarters.
