All colleges to have wi-fi facility in next two years
BHOPAL: Higher Education minister Umashankar Gupta has directed immediate action for recruitment against vacant posts of various categories in colleges. Around 2,900 posts under various categories are lying vacant in colleges. Gupta was reviewing the working of the department at Mantralaya on Tuesday.
Recruitment has to be made to 1,600 posts of Assistant Professors, 147 post of Librarians, 162 posts of Sports Officers, 509 posts of other officers, 140 posts of class III employee and 343 posts under class IV categories. The recruitment on such a big scale would be done after 1992.
The Minister said the officers working in the placement cell must be trained. Help of industrialists must be taken for placement. Proposed amendments in Madhya Pradesh University Act must be made soon. He said before finalising the proposals regarding ‘excellence’ in two departments in every university, a team must visit Delhi University first.
Principal Secretary higher education JN Kansotia said wi-fi facility would available in all colleges in two years. A plan to launch Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) has been made for training of professors.
10 ITIs in every division to be developed as centres of excellence
Higher education minister Umashankar Gupta, while reviewing the working of technical education and skills development department here on Tuesday, said 10 ITIs in every division would be developed into centres of excellence and would conduct training in at least 10 trades. Gupta directed to open government centres in those blocks where private skill development centres are not being opened.
