Burhanpur: With the recent demonetisation, the businessmen and traders community here are suffering heavy losses in their businesses due to very low turnout of customers. Adding to its woes, the very few who are willing to trade have mostly banned Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes making it further difficult to make business. Families having marriage ceremonies recently are the worst hit. Meanwhile, lending a helping hand to the people facing cash woes following demonetisation, Jan Jagriti Sansthan (JJS) will serve drinking water to the customers at several bank branches in the city located between City Police Kotwali and Shani Temple road, including SBI Mandi branch, Narmada Jhabua Gramin Bank, ICICI Bank, Dena Bank and Bank of Baroda. President of the organisation Mahendra Jain and secretary Rajesh Bhagat have already informed the branch managers about their programme. Senior social worker Ramdhari Mittal will also be present during the programme, they said. Earlier on Monday, the organisation also carried out the same programme in various other banks of the city.
