MORENA : The Deendayal Rasoi Scheme will be launched at district headquarters from April 1. It aims at providing affordable and nutritious food to the poor and the needy. A centre would be established at the Community Centre on Mangal Bhavan Mela premises for the purpose.

Instructions to this effect were issued by Collector Vinod Sharma at a meeting of officers of departments concerned and representatives of commercial bodies. He directed municipal corporation commissioner to make all necessary arrangements at the centre to ensure that people can have their meals there. The dining area should be airy and lighted and the centre should work like a restaurant. If machines are needed, they should be bought on time. The centre would be run by non-governmental religious and voluntary organisations. The scheme would be funded by donations from commercial organisations under CSR. The food department will provide wheat, rice, sugar and salt at concessional rates for the centre.
