BHOPAL : Death toll has increased to 29 in the state due to excessive rainfall. There are nine persons still missing in flood like condition in various areas. Nearly 2,487 houses have been damaged in rain.
Nearly, 15,810 persons are still living in relief camps in various places. Maximum number of 6,710 persons are in relief camps in Bhopal while Harda and Sehore each are at second position with 2000 persons in relief camps. Nearly, 1400 persons are still in camps in Vidisha. Panna and Damoh each have 1000 rain-hit persons in relief camps. There are 1265 rain affected persons in relief camp in Satna.
35 districts have recorded more than normal rainfall while 14 districts recorded normal rainfall. Two districts recorded less than normal till date. The 35 districts which recorded more than normal rainfall include Jabalpur, Katni, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur, Satna, Umaria, Alirajpur, Indore, Dhar, Khandwa, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dewas, Shajapur, Morena, Neemuch, Guna, Shivpuri, Ashok Nagar, Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, and Raisen.
Warning for heavy rain has been issued by the meteorological department for Neemuch, Mandsaur, Jhabua, Guna, Sheorpurkalan, Hoshangabad, Raisen, Mandla, Narsingpur, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Shivpuri districts.
Heavy alert has been issued for Hoshangabad while alert has been issued for Betul, Khandwa, Sehore, Ujjain, Agar, Khargone, Ratlam, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Alirajpur, Rajgarh and Shajapur districts.
