People caught unwares; life thrown out of gear; districts of the western region like Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad, Ujjain were worst affected because of upper air cyclonic system which lied over Gujarat and western part of Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Heavy rain, coupled with gusty winds, paralysed normal life in the city on Tuesday, flooding roads. Power went on the blink in many areas of the city many times during the day, adding to the inconvenience of the people.

The sky was overcast right from the morning. At around 12 noon, it turned so dark that drivers were forced to switch on the headlights of their vehicles. It started raining in afternoon, which continued till late in the night. More rain is likely over the next couple of days. Districts of the western region like Bhopal,

Indore, Hoshangabad, Ujjain were worst affected because of upper air cyclonic system which lied over Gujarat and western part of Madhya Pradesh.Because of rain, the day temperature reeled below normal. However, night temperature was above normal.

Bhopal recorded maximum temperature of 23.7° C which was 6 ° C below normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 15.6° C which was 2° C above normal.Indore recorded maximum temperature of 26.4° C which was 5 ° C below normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 15.5° C which was 3° C above normal.

Gwalior recorded maximum temperature of 26.5° C which was 1 ° C below normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 12.8° C which was 1° C above normal.

Jabalpur recorded maximum temperature of 26.8° C which was 3 ° C below normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 16.4° C which was 2° C above normal.

According to Meteorological department, upper air cyclonic circulation is lying over Gujarat and western part of Madhya Pradesh.

Therefore, through out the state, it will rain with hailstorm.

The condition is likely to prevail for the next couple of days. Districts of the western region like Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad, Ujjain were worst affected because of cyclonic system.
