BHOPAL: The TT Nagar police arrested Dalit leader Sandeep Manekar under Section 151 of the IPC on Sunday on the charge of causing disturbance to the public peace.
Dalit Mahasabha had organised a programme at a statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Buddha at Link Road -3. Administration was under impression that Dalhi Mahasabha wanted to install the statues during the programme. The administration swung into action and removed the tents, tables and statues.
As per the leaders of Dalit Mahasabha, administration took action under pressure of local politicians. The programme was held after permission from administration.
SHO, TT Nagar police station, Dinesh Chauhan said that Sandeep Manekar has been arrested under section 151 of IPC.
