BHOPAL : A couple and their child died on the spot when a bus of the New Star Bus Service coming from Sironj to Bhopal hit their bike from behind near the Amarpur Joint within the limits of Berasia police station on Thursday evening around 8 pm. The bus after hitting the bike dragged it for 15-20 feet and then fell in a pit besides the road. Police following the information reached the spot and got the bodies struck under the bus by lifting the bus with the help of a crane.
SP North Arvind Saxena talking to Free Press said that the bus of New Star Bus Service coming to Bhopal from Sironj bearing registration number MP40 P 0203 hit the bike bearing registration number MP40 MC 4678 from behind. The bike-borne couple, along with their 5-6 year old child was dragged by the bus for 10-15 feet and then the bus fell into the pit besides the road over their bodies.
The three were crushed. The identity of the deceased could not be traced till the filing of the report. On the basis of the registration number of the bike the bike was found to be registered in Shamshabad in Nateran tehsil of Vidisha district. SP said that investigations are on and soon they would be identified. No one onboard the bus was injured in the accident. Police have nabbed the driver of the bus and registered a case against him.
