BHOPAL: With announcement of JEE (mains) results by CBSE, technical education department in MP has started the process of counselling for admissions to engineering and other vocational courses. On Monday, it collected information from colleges about seats and AICTE approval. “Detail regarding recognition from statutory body like AICTE, was taken from colleges of Jabalpur division. Every day, colleges of different division will submit information to directorate of technical education,” said officials. Private colleges have proposed to reduce total intake in BE in 2015-16 session. They won’t surrender seats to AICTE but will declare lesser number of seats in some branches for admission. Officials said they planned for counselling to start off in second week of May with giving options to students to opt choices for branch and college. In July, it will incorporate final merit of JEE with the choice to allot colleges.
