Corruption worth crores come to fore in C-C road construction

Badnawar : Another fraud has come to light recently in the construction of one and half km long cement concrete road from Badi Chaupati to Baijnath Mahadev Mandir that was being constructed with an amount of Rs 4.48 crores. The scam was exposed when the samples of the construction material were tested in the laboratory; it was revealed that the builder was using substandard material.

However, even after the confirmation of test report, PWD is not taking any action against the builder Ashish Kharia (KG Developers). This clearly shows that the PWD officials are also supporting the builder and they are also involved in this corruption.

The Krishna Digital Material Testing Laboratory, Bhopal, took the sample of the materials used in the construction. The team of the laboratory took out five samples from the road through machines and all were found of sub standard.

As per the test reports, the M-40 concrete mix road should be capable of bearing about 400 kg per cm square but the bearing capacity of this road was found even less then half. The condition of the road would be better, if sand, cement and stones had been used as per the given measurements. The road is in very bad shape with big cracks.

It may be noted that the Executive Engineer Rawat had appointed his dear sub engineer Rathore for the road construction separately while there were around five more engineers posted in the regional office. Similarly, for the construction of the government hospital, he again appointed Rathore. This clearly shows the involvement of the officials in this scam.

The laboratory team informed that they have sent the test report to the PWD department. However, no action has been taken yet by the department.
