BHOPAL : Two armed miscreants were caught by police from Ayodhya Nagar and Shahjehanabad area respectively in two separate incidents while they were roaming with firearms on Thursday. Beside their arrest, the police have also recovered country-made pistols from each of them along with live cartridges from their possession. In the first incident which was reported from Ayodhya Nagar area, acting on a tip-off from an informer, police has arrested a youth from Anand Nagar Road while he was roaming along with firearm on Thursday. The Ayodhya Nagar police were in search of the miscreants who held captive wife of deputy director of health department and then committed robbery on gun-point in broad daylight few days back. During investigation, police came to know that Raju Meena was behind the loot incident but later it came to fore that he is recently in jail and a youth namely Salman has old rivalry with Meena and the miscreant Salman was roaming with firearm in Anand Nagar area. Following the information, police cornered him and recovered a pistol and four live cartridges from his possession. Meanwhile, Shahjehanabad police have detained a 25-year-old youth from graveyard near Safiya College on Thursday and recovered one pistol and two live cartridges from his possession. The accused has been identified as Shakeel Ahmed (25), who resides near Bhopal railway station. Subsequently, the police concerned have registered cases under sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act against both the miscreants and they were being further quizzed at length that from where they get these firearms.
