BHOPAL : The city crime branch on Saturday nabbed an auto-rickshaw driver and seized from his possession a mobile that he confessed of stealing from Ayodhya Nagar area.
ASP Shailendra Singh Chauhan said that acting on the tip-off from an informer the crime branch cops nabbed a youth who was trying to sell a mobile at throwaway prices near Nadra Bus Stand. The informer stated that an auto rickshaw driver youth was masquerading as a mobile shop owner. He stated that the accused was also not showing the bill of the mobile. The accused has been identified as Dileep Vishwakarma, 20, son of Man Singh Vishwakarma, resident of Kalyan Nagar, Chhola. When quizzed by the cops, Dileep said that he brought the mobile from a friend for selling. When the cops tightened the noose around the suspicious youth he confessed of stealing the mobile from Ayodhya Nagar area along with his maternal uncle Ravi Vishwakarma last month. He said that he committed theft as he facing severe financial crisis.
In another incident the crime branch sleuths nabbed an accused who was a labourer and used to whitewash houses on charges of vehicle lifting. The cops recovered a bike on his information which he confessed of lifting from Misrod police station area. The cops also nabbed the buyer who bought the stolen bike from the accused for Rs 3,000.
ASP Chauhan said the accused has been identified as Raju Ahirwar, 18, son of Kaniram Ahirwar, resident of Chaparband village within the limits of Parvalia police station. He said that the crime branch had got a tip-off from an informer that a bike was parked at a garage for a very long time. Acting on the tip off police raided the garage and nabbed mechanic Baljeet Singh, resident of Jhapadia village within the limits of Parvalia police station. Singh said he had purchased the bike from Ahirwar. In his statements Ahirwar stated that he had gone to the Misrod area in search of whitewashing work. In the meantime he found the bike parked in front of a house and he stole it.
