A daughter of a policeman and another woman lodged complaints against two persons accusing them of outraging their modesty on pretext of marriage. A 23-year-old daughter of a cop, in her complaint to Nishatpura police stated that she had been sexually assaulted by a man she had befriended in 2013. The girl told police that she came in contact with Ram Malviya at a boutique where she used to go for learning tailoring work.
They soon became friends and started going out. During one of their outings, the man outraged her modesty at a city hotel. Later, he threatening to defame her, continued to sexually assault her. When the family members of the duo came to know about their ‘relationship’ they agreed to solamnize their marriage. However, after a few months, the man started suspecting the girl and refused to marry her.
He even allegedly thrashed the girl in full public view when the latter pressurized to marry her. Later girl approached police and lodged a complaint. Meanwhile, in another incident, a 37-year-old woman along with her elder sister approached Bairagarh police on Saturday and lodged a complaint against a garment trader for allegedly raping her for last 9 years on pretext of marrying her. The man cheated on her and married another woman.
Sub-Inspector Urmila Yadav, said that victim is unmarried and her parents are no more. In 2009, Naresh Harchandani came to her home with matrimony proposal. The two them liked each other and then they started talking over phone. A year later when she was alone at home, Naresh visited her home and finding her alone, raped her. On pretext of marrying her, he continued to have physical relations with her for last many years. However, he refused to keep his promise and tied knot with another woman.
