BHOPAL : The MP Nagar police was groping in the dark and still remain clueless about the miscreant who stole a bag containing Rs 7.5 lakh and a laptop from a car by swindling its owner using currency notes in broad daylight in-front of Bhopal Haat near SP office in MP Nagar even after 24 hours of the incident.
TI, MP Nagar police station, Rajkumar Saraf said that the 43-year-old victim Shivkumar Wadhwa claimed that the miscreant was wearing white clothes and had tilak on his forehead and appeared to be south Indian.
The search for the miscreant has been launched but at the same time the complaint lodged by the victim has to be verified as the incident took place at around 4 pm and after visiting 2-3 places he lodged a complaint with the police after few hours and came to know only after his wife went to bring the bag from the vehicle.
In the incident bag containing Rs 7.5 lakh cash and a laptop was stolen from a car at Bhopal Haat under MP Nagar police station area on Friday. According to the police Wadhwa in his complaint had claimed that while he was on his way to home he stopped to attend a call on mobile near Bhopal Haat and when he was speaking over the phone a man came to him and told him that a currency note is lying below the vehicle after which Wadhwa got down the vehicle to collect the currency note and after completing the call went to his house. After reaching the house when he checked the vehicle, the bag carrying Rs 7.5 lakh cash and a laptop was found missing.
The victim owns Shivam Associates and deals in computers. He lives at Gulmohar Colony and the incident took place while he was on his way to home in the evening.
After preliminary investigation the police have registered a case of theft and have started further investigation. The footages of the CCTV cameras installed at the signals would also be taken to ascertain identity of the miscreant.
