Cooperative bank to open ATMs for farmers

Khandwa : For providing various opportunities and economic aid to the farmers, the District Cooperative Central Bank Limited, Khandwa, is going to open ATMs very soon after which the credit card holder farmers would be given the ATM cards.

The chief executive officer of the bank AK Jain informed that the bank has been included in the direct benefit transfer scheme and under the guidance of bank president Hukum Chand Yadav, their team is continuously making efforts to enhance the facilities for the farmers.

This year with the help of 74 centers, wheat of Rs 226 crore has been purchased i.e. around 1,55,951 metrics ton.

Jain further informed that through 416 fair price shops, business of Rs 6503 lakhs has been done in the year 2014-15. He said that they have provided credit cards to almost 1.16 lakhs farmers of the Khandwa-Burhanpur district and all the 34 branches of both the districts are being computerized. It may be noted that Cooperative banks provide many benefits to farmers along with the agricultural loan, they provided them vehicle loan, education loan, mortgage etc.
