BHOPAL: A constable posted at Govindpura police station allegedly manhandled a physically challenged and blind elderly person over a petty issue at Ganesh Complex on Tuesday afternoon. Later the injured was rushed to JP Hospital for treatment where, reportedly, some locals created ruckus following the act of the cop.

However, till the filing of the report, there was no case lodged at Govindpura police station in this regard. According to information, the victim old-aged man namely Ganesh, aged around 55 years, used to reside nearby Ganesh Complex as he was homeless and was living like a beggar.On Tuesday afternoon at around 2pm, the constable namely Chagan Lal collided the victim accidentally while coming outside from the bathroom of the complex. The victim man could not see the constable and collided with him subsequent to which the constable kicked the victim down the stairs. And he did not stop here only and brutally beaten up the elderly man.

Later the victim was rushed to JP Hospital for further treatment. Police said that only after recording statements of the old aged person, a case would be lodged against the constable.
