BHOPAL: Congress on Wednesday took a u-turn in the case of Gulab Singh Kirar, an accused in Vyapam scam. Kirar had joined the Congress in the presence of its national president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. MP Jyotiraditya Scindia was instrumental behind his entry in Congress. Media in-charge Shobha Oza had to give clarification that he did not join Congress. Oza said Kirar had come only to meet Scindia. Sources said ex- CM Digvijay Singh and other leaders, who had launched a campaign in Vyapam scam, had opposed on Kirar joining the Congress. Their opposition resulted in the party changing its decision. Kirar and Congress leaders had also admitted his joining the party. He could not be contacted for his response on this issue.
