BHOPAL: The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has called for a day-long sit-in protest on Monday keeping in view the difficulties faced by farmers in the state under the BJP led government. The sit-in protest would be organised at all the district and urban headquarters and would start at 11 am. The PCC chief would lead the protest in the city at Roshanpura Chouraha.
In a press release organisational general secretary in-charge Chandrika Prasad Dwivedi said that a situation of chaos has emerged in the state. CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan came to power claiming himself to be a well wisher of the farmers but farmers of the state are being cheated. The anti-farmer policies of the government have made the lives of farmers miserable. Deficient rains, mosaic and other diseases of the crops have ruined the crops of the farmers due to which they were committing suicides. The government has till date conducted no survey of crops, declared no draught and nor distributed any compensation to them.
The compensation of the crops damaged in the year 2014 has still not been received by the farmers.
