BHOPAL : Bhopal Municipal Corporation, district administration and police on Tuesday forcefully removed posters, hoardings showing corruption in Simhastha, displayed at the district Congress office at Jawahar Bhawan. Police also arrested the protesters for raising hurdle in their work.
The Congress erected several such posters and hoardings displaying the Simhastha corruptions at the DCC office. The team of BMC of anti encroachment drive, fire brigade, district administration and police reached the office around noon and started removing them on the pretext of creating intolerance in the area and cited that their removal was necessary.
The Congressmen opposed the action and tried to stop the joint team of the civic body and district administration backed by the cops, but the resistance was foiled and the team continued its action.
State Congress spokesperson KK Mishra alleged that in the entire city the posters and the hoardings of the BJP office-bearers have been installed but the government have objections against the Congress banners and posters only.
When the Congress members created a ruckus during the removal drive, police resorted to lathi charge and the Congressmen including KK Mishra, state general secretary PC Sharma, corporator Guddu Chauhan and many others were arrested.
