BHOPAL : Congress firebrand MLA Kalpana Parulekar and a few Congressmen, on Tuesday, staged demonstration outside Raj Bhavan seeking prosecution sanction against Industries and Commerce minister Kailash Vijayvargiya in Indore’s destitute pension scam from governor Ramnaresh Yadav.
After two-hour demonstration, governor Yadav held discussion with a delegation of agitators and assured them to talk with state government on the issue. As per announcement, Parulekar and Congress leaders gathered at Banganga Road, near Raj Bhavan where police barricaded the road. They tried to move to Raj Bhavan to stage sit in at Gandhi statue but the police prevented them.
Police force was deployed there and police had diverted traffic going towards Raj Bhavan to Jehangirabad.
Former general of MPPCC Mahesh Joshi and former spokesman of PCC KK Mishra too came to participate in the agitation. Later, the governor called a delegation of agitators for discussion when they conveyed thf message. A five-member delegation led by Mahesh Joshi met the governor and apprised him about the irregularities of the governor.
Mishra later said “We gave documents and report regarding pension scam to governor. He assured that he would ask the government to take action against the minister and hopefully, the government will take it. Otherwise, the governor will take appropriate action.”
Parulekar and senior congress leader from Indore Joshi demanded prosecution sanction to file charge sheet against BJP government minister Vijayvargiya in 12-year-old pension scam of Indore municipal corporation, where he was Mayor at that time. They said, the then governor Bhai Mahavir had given sanction to prosecute the then minister of state for forest BR Yadav and another minister Rajendra Singh during congress rule.
“The governor can use powers given in article 163 (2) of the Constitution to prosecute the minister,” Parulekar said.
