Guddu manages B form for son; official nominee’s form rejected
Bhopal: The Congress leadership has taken a serious note of Ajit Borasi, son of Member of Parliament Premchand Guddu, being given B- form after the party had declared Kamal Parmar as its official candidate from the Alot assembly constituency.
Kamal’s nomination was rejected by returning officer on Saturday, on the ground that he did not submit complete property details. It appears that it was pre- planned strategy to get ticket for the Congress’ MP son, Borasi.
Kamal said that his nomination was rejected by the returning officer and he would challenge the decision in High Court. Guddu had lobbied for the ticket in Delhi but to no avail in wake of the party’s guideline that sons of sitting MPs will not be given party ticket for the Assembly polls. Several other MPs like Arun adav, Sajjan Verma got ticket for their relatives in the upcoming elections.
In the first list, the party had given tickets to Pappu Borasi, close relative of Guddu, and later amended it by giving ticket to Kamal Parmar who is also the MP’s supporter in Alot constituency. Kamal was the official candidate, the party said. The controversy emerged when Ajit filed nomination papers on the last day with party’s B- form attached to it as a dummy candidate assuring that he may be the Congress candidate in case of rejection of Kamal’s nomination.
