BHOPAL : Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that the consumers of the state capital will get the facility of taking foodgrains from their favourite fair price shop from June month. Shah, who was addressing a workshop of Fair Price Shop owners, asked 267 Government Fair Price Shop Owners to brace up for the competition. A workshop was organized under ‘Asar’ system at Academy of Administration. Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, Ashok Varnwaal and Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies, Manohar Agnani were also present.

The food minister also announced to increase the commission to Fair Price Shop-owners of the state from Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 70 per quintal, which would be effective from April, 2015. Shah said Fair Price Shops would be made multi-purpose. Besides food items at reasonable prices, other things like sarees, grocery items and copies would also be provided there. Negotiations with big companies in this connection are also on.
