KHANDWA : District collector Dr M K Agrawal inspected around half of the dozen villages situating under Khandwa to take stock of drought situation and condition of Kharif crops. He promised farmers ofr the financial aid for their destructed crops due to erratic weather conditions.
The villages include Garbedi, Mojwadi, Jaamniya, Udiyapur, Ashapur, Langoti, and Pipari were inspected. He also inspected the crops of soybean and cotton throughout the area. It has to mention that he also organized a public hearing where the grievances of the farmers were sought by him and the other officials present during public meeting were instructed to address the plights of the farmers at priority.
During the ongoing public hearing, Agriculture additional director , OP Chorey, additional district magistrate Suresh Chandra Verma, additional commissioner tribal development Ganesh Bhanvar and other officials were also present.
Minister to discuss drought situation
Meanwhile, Sate labor, backward class and minority welfare minster Antar Singh Arya is likely to discuss the drought situation with the officials of the areas including Burhanpur, Khandwa and Khargone on October 25, 26 and 27 respectively.
Minister will also address the farmers of the areas including Khaknar of Burhanpur, Gunjhhira of Khargone and Naharkhodri, Khiranya.
According to the scheduled programs, minister will review the cause and effect of the recent drought situation with the concerning officials. And the drought hit areas are also likely to be inspected by the minister.
