Burhanpur : Public facilities proposed by the government should reach to Khaknaar development block in every condition and on time. All the development related pending works from 2010-2014-15 should be completed within two months ensuring quality. Public development works are necessary in the area. Collector J P Irene Cynthia said all this in development block level meeting of secretaries held in Khaknar.

She commented over the village Panchayats where development works are pending though the fund is saved in the Panchayat account. The secretaries here have not started construction work of Anganwadi building, Latrine construction, and extra rooms in schools.

The Collector expressed severe anger saying that the secretaries who are absent will be issued notices. She ordered District Panchayat CEO R B S Dandotiya to cut one day salary of the absentees and submit the report along with upliftment of the pathetic condition of the area without any delay. The secretaries who do not follow the orders have been ordered to be removed. Ten secretaries have been suspended from the post from this Janpad for their careless attitude.

Collector Cynthia instructed Janpad CEO that all the suspended secretaries will have to work for one more month and based on the quality they should be handed over with the Village Panchayat works. The secretaries informed about the progress work and hurdles blocking the way. She instructed the secretaries to maintain sanitation to get the villages declared ‘Nirmal Gram’ clean village and win the prize. The District Panchayat CEO, Sureshwar Singh informed said that the secretaries have to get two bank accounts opened for every family under the PM Jan Dhan Scheme and informed the villagers that one lakh worth accident insurance will come with the scheme. He further added that the secretaries can get their uncompleted works accepted under MGNREGA which allows labour budget. Maryada Abhiyaan is a government scheme which provides sufficient fund for latrine construction and the Panchayats where the fund has been finished or insufficient, they can again demand for the fund.

The Collector inquired about works under MGNREGA from sub engineers. She stated clearly that all the works under any government schemes will be commenced only after land allotment following full procedure. Janpat Panchayat President Ratilal Chilatre, SDM Suraj Nagar, Tahsildar S K Gautam and other officers from different departments attended the meeting.
