BHOPAL : Governor Ramnaresh Yadav has called upon the people particularly youths to follow ideologies of Lord Rama in the life. While chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan urged people to win over anger, temptations, and evil while torching of effigies of Ravana at Budani.
The governor was addressing public gathering at a function of Nagrik Kalyan Samiti organised to torch effigies of Effigies of Ravana at TT Nagar Dussehra Maidan on Dussehra on Friday.
Yadav said youths should follow footprints of Lord Rama in life. They should have control on themselves, he said, adding Dussehra symbolises the triumph of good over evil, justice on injustice. He also applied tilaks to artists in the getup of of lord Rama, Laxman and Sita.
Home minister Babulal Gaur, MP Alok Sanjar, former MP Kailash Sarang and executive members of Samiti were also present on the occasion.
The governor said, “Lord Rama and evil king Ravana both were learned at that time but when a man develops evil traits, then personality like learned Ravana too becomes ‘Rakshash’ (devil). Celebrations of Dussehra will not be fruitful until or unless we start respecting women in the society”.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, addressing public at Budani, said, “People should destroy evil hidden in themselves in form of Ravana”.
Referring Swachha India Mission of PM Narendra Modi, CM said, “People will have to pledge for implementation of sanitation drive”. He torched the effigy of Ravana at Budani.
Similarly, effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhkarna were torched at various places including Bittan Market, BHEL, Kolar, Chhola Dussehra Maidan, MVM Ground, Shahpura, Nehru Nagar and other places.
