BHOPAL : Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will confer President’s medal on as many as 61 personnel belonging to police, home guard and jail department during medal investiture ceremony on the occasion of Independence Day parade at Motilal Nehru Stadium of the city on August 15.
10 police officers will also be awarded rifle by chief minister Chouhan. During the Independence Day programme, eight officers will be conferred with medal for meritorious services while 32 officers and employees will be given medal for distinguished services. Three officers of home guard will be given home guard and civil safety medal for meritorious services while seven officers/employees will be given safety medal for distinguished services.
8 officers and employees of jail department will be conferred upon with reformatory services medal for distinguished services and 2 officers will be given meritorious services. 10 officers will be presented revolver/rifle as award for showing exemplary courage and three civilians will be given life safety medal. Those who will be conferred with the President’s medal for meritorious services include Dr Rajendra Kumar Mishra, additional director general of police (ADGP), Ajay Kumar Sharma, ADGP, Govind Pratap Singh, ADGP, Ravindra Kumar Gupta, ADGP, Yograj Singh, SP, PTS, Pradeep Singh Chouhan, DSP, Vijay Kumar Mishra and Sheikh Razaullah, inspector. Those who will be conferred with President’s medal for distinguished services include Rakesh Gupta, deputy inspector general of police (DIG), Santosh Kumar Singh, DIG, Mahendra Singh Sikarwar, SP, and Prembabu Sharma, assistant inspector general of police (AIG).
