Dhar : While Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojna has been touted as one of the best schemes floated by the Shivraj Singh Government, some couples are trying to make a mockery of the whole set up by marrying twice under the scheme. For officials, these marriages add to the total number of couples getting married in the event. The couples, on the other hand get benefits attached to Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojna.
A similar incident was witnessed at Janpad Panchayat Tirla, where a couple who had been married in the 2013. The couple was remarried in the year 2013 under the Mukhya Mantri Kanyadaan Yojna. They also have a son.
When this was informed to the district administration, the officers assured them that the case would be investigated, but no action was taken in an event where everything was going on the directions of the administrative officers.
When MLA Gandhwani Umang Singhar came to know about the issue, he pitched for an investigation into the matter.
During the latest mass marriage ceremony witnessed in Tirla, the MLA Kalu Singh came to know of the couples which had allegedly been planted by the administration, he took charge of the event and put the administration into back seat, which did not go well with the administrative officers—who had links with the organizers and those who got them the Dahej materials. They also tried arguing with the suppliers of these areas. A result of these interventions around hundred vivah-vedis went empty without any of the couples sitting for marriages.
