BHOPAL : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, speaking after inaugurating the National Executive Meet of BJP Mahila Morcha here on Saturday, announced that women would get 33 per cent reservation in recruitment in Police force and 50 per cent in education department in the state. Chauhan said reservation would be given from the post of constables up to the DSP level. He said women have been given 50 per cent reservations in elections to local bodies but their actual representation has gone up to 56 per cent due to their talent.
Chauhan said he is into politics for the welfare of the people and he cannot sleep if people are in distress. He said his wife too sometimes complains about his sleeplessness. The Chief Minister said the BJP believes in setting examples rather than pontificating and that is why the BJP leaders are also social reformers. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi earned success amidst adversities, won the trust of the people and had build a positive atmosphere in the country by launching dozens of initiatives like ‘Swachch Bharat’, Jan-Dhan Yojana and ‘Make In India’. He said India was emerging as a powerful country and the women had played a key role in this achievement. Party’s senior leader and Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has earned world-wide fame by becoming India’s brand ambassador. Chauhan said Mahila Panchayat would be organised on May 18.
