BHOPAL : The Sukhisewania police on the information of forest officials recovered a half burnt body of a 16-18-year old girl on Thursday morning from Balampur Jungle, some 400 metres inside the forest from road. The body’s face was burnt beyond recognition due to which the identity of the girl could not be ascertained. The sensation prevailed in the area soon after the news spread. The police have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
According to Sukhisewania police, the forest officials found the body during daily patrolling of the area and informed the police. Police reached the spot and found out that the body of the girl could not be identified as the face was burnt. There were earrings, ankle chains and Salwar-Suit which were also burnt. Prima facie it seems that the girl was killed somewhere else and her body was dumped in the jungle. Her body was burnt to hide her identity. Traces of motorcycle tyre-marks were found near the spot which suggests that her killers might have used a bike to carry her body to the spot.
Police station in-charge Vinayak Verma said that we have sent the information about the identification details of the girl to all the police stations of the city as well as the police stations of Raisen district because its territory adjoins limits of Sukhi Sewania police station. The cops are also contacting labourers working at brick-kilns if the deceased was one from among them. Further details could be ascertained only after getting the post-mortem report, Verma added.
