The union government has curtailed the central road fund (CRF) to Madhya Pradesh this year, saying that it won’t give amount for construction of new roads which was sanctioned by the then minister Kamalnath.

“The central minister has curtailed the fund. Earlier, Rs 1500 crore was sanctioned for 62 roads by the then minister but now the govt is willing to provide fund for only 28 roads which includes eight roads of Chhinndwara district, the parliamentary constituency of Kamalnath,” the PWD minister said. Cong MLAs had demanded CRF for their assembly constituencies during meeting with Joshi.
