BHOPAL: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and railway vigilance teams, in a joint operation, found irregularities at four out of five reservation counters during a raid at Bhopal Railway Station on Thursday. The joint raids were conducted at three railway stations Habibganj, Bhopal and Itarsi in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday on account of complaints of irregularities at reservations counters.
The joint team verified status of cash according to reservations at five reservation counters each at Habibganj and Bhopal railway stations. Rachna Tyagi, reservation supervisors, showed all the documents and apprised the team about the cash status. Similarly, reservation supervisor Bhopal Railway station, Bhanu Das appraised of status of cash and reservation.
Public Relation Officer IA Siddiqui said, “It was a joint operation of CBI and railway vigilance teams. The team raided five reservations counters at Habibganj and Bhopal railway station each. Every thing was alright at Habibganj Railway station but irregularities were detected at four out of five reservations counters at Bhopal Railway station.”
“There must be cash in hand according to berth reservations. Whether notices will be issued or any action will taken against clerk, it is a job of team members. But it is routine checking and raid which vigilance team keeps on conducting,” Siddqui added.
