ACTION IN CONNECTION WITH APPOINTMENTS IN BOKARO STEEL PLANT
Bhopal: The Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) raided the house of Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Rajya Sabha and former Union minister Satyanarayan Jatia on Tuesday and seized documents.
The CBI raids at Jatia’s place were part of a series of raids conducted in many as 35 places across the country in connection with appointments in Bokaro Steel Plant ( BSL). The CBI is probing into the appointment of Jatia’s son, Rajkumar Jatia, who was appointed in BSL in 2008, when Jatia was not the Minister.
The appointments in BSL were made under the influence of political and influential persons, including Jatia. The CBI conducted raids at Jatia’s residence at 74 Bungalow and his brother Hariom Jatia’s house located at Shakti Nagar. Jatia’s son was quizzed and several documents were seized during the raids.
Meanwhile, Jatia maintains that there is nothing wrong as his son’s appointment was done after applying slams the door onin response to the advertisement published by the BSL. Jatia, in the wake of CBI raids, immediately reached BJP office and gave his clarification to chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and BJP state president Narendra Singh Tomar. Jatia on Monday had filed nomination for Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, BJP State President Narendra Singh Tomar, giving a clean chit to Jatia said he was a spotless leader. He claimed that the UPA government is misusing the CBI and trying to implicate a Dalit leader of the party. Tomar said misuse of CBI would not be tolerated. Meanwhile leader of opposition Satyadev Katare, ridiculing Jatia, said the raids are an outcome of Jatia’s sins.
