BHOPAL: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team raided Jamuna-Kotma coal mine of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Chhindwara district and unearthed irregularities worth crores of rupees on the part of the lease holder. Raees Khan is lease holder of coal mines of Jamuna-Kotma and allegedly he was not dumping waste material (soil) at authorised dump-yard. Thus Khan saved transportation cost and withdrew entire payment in the name of dumping soil at authorised dump-yards.

CBI ACB MV Surati, while talking to Free Press, said, “Our team raided WCL coal mines owned by some Raees Khan of Chhindwara at Jamuna-Kotma region. He also had contract of dumping of waste and it was for Rs 124 crore. Process is still on. The allegation is that the lease holder does not dump waste material at the authorised dump-yard. So it used to save transportation cost but withdraw full payment from government.”
