BHOPAL : At the instance of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the state cabinet, which met here on Thursday, decided to put on hold the proposal of merger of the services of the employees of OILFED – which has been shut down – with the Woman and Child Development and Agriculture Departments.

The Chief Minister took the stand that before merger, it should be ensured that the appointment of employees concerned in OILFED was regular and legal.

The CM, apparently, chose to adopt a cautious approach following the recent HC order cancelling the appointment of a WRD employee made during Digvijay Singh’s regime.

At Indore, Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam will develop Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) on 254 acre land available for Diamond Park Project under PPP mode. In the core area of SEZ, industrial plots will be developed and in the non-core area, hotel, township conference hall, hospital, school, training centre and administrative building will be constructed. Private developers will make available basic amenities like road, water, power, streetlights, sewer network, plantation, CC TV cameras and parking facilities. Side by side development of industrial plot in the DTA, facilities of roads, parking, power, water etc. will also be developed. The cabinet approved a fund of 430 million Dollar (Rs 2728 crore) for reforms in higher education for the next six years under World Bank project. World Bank would contribute 300 Million Dollar while state’s share would be of 130 Million Dollar.
