Caught on camera: Bisen says he will distribute 10,000 sarees worth Rs.30 lakh

Bhopal: A video of agriculture minister Gauri Shankar Bisen has gone viral on social media in which he is seen boasting about his corrupt practices and displaying ‘poll generosity’. Congress has demanded immediate action against Bisen and his family members.

“Union minister Smriti Irani is my sister. I would be calling ten thousand sarees from Surat in Gujarat worth Rs 30 lakhs and would distribute it across my region,” Bisen is heard saying in the video, apparently to woo voters.  Bisen is also seen boasting about how he minted money through construction works from mandi fund. He said that earned crores from construction works in agriculture and a medical college.

Bisen explained his future plans to the person and said that he would contest Lok Sabha election and then become union minister to rise above the stature of Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Bisen also said that he would spend hundreds of crores to convince PM Modi so that he becomes union agriculture minister.

Congress spokesperson, Sayyed Jafar said that content of video is highly objectionable and exposes the real face of the BJP and his minister. Bisen’s statement on spending money to ensure minister’s berth shows his intent to violate model code, said Jafar.

Bisen has spoken about distribution of sarees worth Rs 30 lakhs which is directly violation of model code and is also a criminal conduct, said Jafar. He has demanded criminal action against Gauri Shankar Bisen, his wife Rekha Bisen and daughter Mausam Harinkhede besides declaring them ineligible to contest election.
