BHOPAL : A car caught fire at BJP office when the newly-appointed party chief Nandkumar Singh Chauhan was about to take charge for second term as the state party president at party office on Tuesday. Besides, incidents of fire were also reported from PWD office record room at 12-Daftar and Hotel Ranjeet (Boat Club).

MEA Sushma Swaraj, union minister for steel Narendra Singh Tomar, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and other party senior leaders were present at the time when the car was gutted. The fire brigade was informed immediately after the incident.

Similarly, the fire broke out at 12-Daftar and Boat Club near Hotel Ranjeet. Entire records of PWD office were gutted after the fire broke out. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire.

As per the fire control room, fire was reported from PWD record room at Shed no-1. At 4.50pm, fire brigade was informed about the fire.

Immediately, fire tenders rushed to the site. It took three hours to douse the fire in record room.

BMC Fire Brigade officer Sajid Khan said, “We had dispatched two fire fighters to douse the fire which engulfed a car parked in front of BJP office.

Similarly, eight fire fighters were dispatched to douse the fire reported from PWD office at 12-Dapter, Jawahar Chowk.”
