The names of Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Sadhvi Pragya Thakur are doing the rounds as prospective candidates. Besides, Mayor Alok Sharma and MP Alok Sanjar too are leaving no stone unturned to ensure party ticket. Initially, speculation was rife about BJP fielding ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Bhopal. Initially, the announcement of Digvijaya Singh’s candidature was welcomed with wry smile by BJP workers as they believed that defeating him would be a cakewalk.
