Burglars strike at vacant house of ex- BMC officer

BHOPAL : A band of thieves sneaked into the locked house of a retired Bhopal Municipality Corporation officer at Shakti Nagar under Govindpura police station and escape with valuables worth nearly Rs 1 lakh in between October 10 to 13 while he was out of station.

The victim of theft and his family returned on Monday night and found the house burgled subsequent to which he lodged a complaint at Govindpura police station.

Police said that the victim Sanjay Kamble, son of Shankar Rao Kamble, resident of Sector- A at Shakti Nagar, is a retired BMC officer.

In his complaint Kamble told the police that on October 10, he along with other family members went out of the station to meet their relatives and returned house on Monday night and found lock of main gate broken and thieves had taken away cash and gold jewellery all to the tune of Rs 1 lakh from the almirah of house.

Subsequently, following the complaint of victim house owner the police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC against unidentified thieves and started search to nab them.
