BHOPAL : Unidentified burglars targeted a garment shop in the Akriti Garden Colony at Nehru Nagar within the limits of Kamla Nagar police station on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The colony has covered campus and security guards were present at the gates. The burglars decamped with branded clothes to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 7000 cash kept in the drawer of the shop. The houses of many high profile persons including the Governor of Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki are located in the colony.
TI Kamla Nagar Mukhtar Qureshi said that the victim shop owner Pramod Singh Bains, 38, son of Dulare Singh, resident of Akriti Garden Nehru Nagar in his complaint to the police stated that he runs a Kirana Shop in the Pragati commercial complex inside the colony campus while his wife runs a readymade garments and gift shop besides his shop.
The incident took place after 10pm on Saturday night when they closed the shops. There were two security guards at the main entrance gate of the colony who remained clueless of the incident. The incident came to light when the gardener informed Bains that the shutter of his shop was broken on Sunday morning.
Bains’ wife said that in view of the upcoming festive season she had ordered and stored a large variety of Lahanga Sets, Salwar Suits and other dress materials which the burglars took away along with cash Rs 7000. Police following the complaint registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC against the unidentified burglars and launched a manhunt to nab them.
The shop was fitted with CCTV cameras. Police said footage of nearby CCTV cameras would be searched and the security guard at the time of the burglary would be questioned.
