BHOPAL : A band of thieves broke into a branch of Punjab National Bank (PNB) at Habibganj area on Friday night, but could not steal anything from them. In another incident, jewellery with cash was stolen from a vacant house located at Mannipuram colony.
According to police sources, KB Bal Krishnan works as deputy branch manager at PNB located at Arera Colony.
When he reached the branch office on Saturday morning he found a window grill broken. He found in CCTV footage that around three thieves tried to enter the branch for theft. The manager, however, found everything including cash was at its place.
He reached Habibganj police station and complained against the thieves with a copy of CCTV footage. Police have registered a case and started investigating into the incident.
In another incident of Habibganj area, Anil Mishra filed a case against the thieves who stole Rs 15 thousand cash and jewellery from his sister’s home located at Mannipuram area. During the incident the house was vacant and locked on Friday. Police have registered a case.
In yet another incident of Gautam nagar area, thieves targeted five vacant houses and stole cash and jewellery. Police have registered a case and launched a hunt to nab the thieves. Cops suspect that the thefts were committed by some miscreants who are addicted to drugs.
