BHOPAL : An armed miscreant intruded in the house of a middle-aged woman with an intention to commit robbery and escaped after stabbing her. He also locked the victim woman and her housemaid in the bathroom at Ginnauri Road under Talaiya police station on Friday afternoon.
In the aftermath of the incident, the injured woman who sustained severe injuries in her hands and neck was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment where her condition was reported to be out of danger.
Police said that the victim woman was identified as Shamim Bano (49), wife of Abdul Aziz, who resides at house no 35 at Ginnaur Road near Kaptan Marriage Garden.
In her complaint she told the police that the incident took place at around 12 in the noon when her husband, an employees of the registrar office, and son were in the office while she was in the house along with her housemaid Yasmeen.
In the meantime, an unidentified miscreant barged into the house and on knifepoint asked the woman to hand over keys of almirah for which she replied that the keys were upstairs and to misguide the miscreant she called her son Abdul to bring the keys down.
After the accused came to know that her son was present in the house, he stabbed Shamim in her hand and neck before locking up her and the housemaid in bathroom and fled from the house.
Subsequently, following the compliant of victim woman, the police have registered a case under sections 452, 393 and 398 of the IPC against unidentified accused and launched a manhunt to nab him.
