BHOPAL : The bureaucracy, it seems, has got the better of the ruling party MLAs in the state. In the recent past, many MLAs had lodged complaints against some IAS officers. But these officers were not shifted in the transfer list released on Monday.
Local MLAs including Rameshwar Sharma, Vishwas Sarang and Surendranath Singh had tabled a breach of privilege motion against Bhopal Municipal Corporation Commissioner Tejaswi Naik.
Naik had invited the MLAs to a meeting, from which he absented himself. Sarang had even claimed that Naik does not take their calls. These MLAs were assured by the CM Secretariat that Naik would be removed.
Similarly, MLA from Chachoda, Mamta Meena had complained against Guna Collector Shriman Shukla. In a one-to-one meeting with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Meena had claimed that Shukla does not receive his phone calls and was not paying attention to works of public importance. Chauhan had assured Meena of action. Meena maintains that she put up her view point before CM and she cannot do anything if the Collector was not removed.
There is resentment among MLAs against Satna Collector Santosh Mishra. MLA Shankarlal Tiwari had complained against the poor working of Mishra.
Kiran Gopal rewarded
Kiran Gopta, who had landed in a controversy after it was discovered that he had dispatched teakwood to his native place, has been given more important posting in the form of Director, Tribal Project and Development. This department looks after budgeting of tribal projects across the state. Why he has been rewarded instead of being punished is a matter of speculation
