BHOPAL : Barkatullah University will impose a fine of Rs 10,000 minimum or double of the fee collected from student in case of wrong admission. The varsity standing committee headed by VC MD Tiwari on Monday granted its nod to a proposal to impose penalty on private colleges ignoring norms in admission.
“Some colleges granted admission to students in under graduation and diploma courses without qualifying examination and their irregularity is known before examinations when students’ exam form and entitlement is checked. It causes a loss for an year for students,” said registrar LS Solanki.”There is no fault of students in this case as he or she is misguided.
The university decided to impose penalty on college management in such cases,” said Solanki.
In such case, the university recently imposed a fine of Rs six lakh on IPER College, for wrong admission to one dozen students. It imposed Rs 50,000 for each case. The registrar said report would be sent to the state government for necessary action against private colleges after imposition of penalty.
The committee took decision to serve show cause to private BP Ed colleges to fulfil shortcomings within a month or lose recognition from the university.
he action will be taken following inspection reports that reveal severe shortcoming in operation of private colleges.
University sources said some colleges even did not have basic facilities like playground and building to run a physical education college.
