Ashram inmates meet DGP, allege conspiracy
BHOPAL: The 26- year- old Chattarpur resident, who was allegedly raped in Brahmakumari ashram and her counsel approached Habibganj police station on Friday afternoon. SHO GP Agrawal, while talking to the ‘ Free Press’, said the victim and her counsel reached police station from where she was taken to court where she was presented in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate ( CJM).
In the court, the woman in her statement said her mental condition is not well and she was not in a position to record her statement as of now. Hearing this, the CJM gave three- days time to the victim woman to record her statement.Agrawal added that as the statement of victim could not be recorded the further action of police to inspect the spot of incident at ashram along with the woman could be made after three days.
Earlier a sevadar of Brahma Kumaris ashram in Singrauli Prasad Bhai was arrested on December 19, and produced before the court, in connection with the alleged during her tenure as sevika in the ashram. Meanwhile, the other accused in the case, who was allegedly working at Bhopal ashram is still untraceable.
At the same time, the zonal head of the Brahma Kumaris, Awadhesh Behan, accused of intimidating the girl to undergo abortion after rape, was also quizzed by Habibganj police in which she denied all the allegations against her as baseless.
She said as she was not given the money she demanded from us she is levelling false allegations to tarnish the image of ashram.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the representatives of Brahma Kumaris met DGP Nandan Dubey and submitted a memorandum claiming the allegations against the ashram inmates baseless and police should have registered FIRs only after proper investigations.
