BHOPAL: Sensation prevailed among locals of Shahjehanabad as the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) team while removing water hyacinth from Motia Talab spotted a decomposed body of a man without the torso. Acting swiftly on the information, the police reached the spot following which the mutilated half body of a youth was fished out which was later sent to Hamidia Hospital for post-mortem.

TI, Shehjehanabad Pankaj Trivedi while talking to ‘Free Press’ said the incident was reported at around 12:30pm in front of LBS hospital where cleanliness members of BMC were removing water hyacinth from Motia Talab.Trivedi further said that the body was highly decomposed and the upper part of the body was missing therefore the identity of deceased could not be ascertained yet.

Alert youth foils teenage girl’s suicide bid

Depressed over scoring less marks in class 10th exam a teenage girl tried to commit suicide by jumping into the Upper Lake under Koh-e-Fiza police station on Thursday evening. However due to the alertness of a youth Afzal standing at VIP Road, he immediately jumped into the upper lake and saved the life of the girl who was later taken to Hamidia Hospital. Meanwhile, following the information the police reached the hospital and after recording her statements later she was handed over to her parents.

TI, Koh-e-Fiza, Manish Mishra while talking to ‘Free Press’ said the girl was identified as Parveen (17), who resides at Shahjehanabad and was class 10th student in a private school. Mishra further said in her statement she told the police that she was upset over getting less marks in her board exam due to which she jumped in the upper lake.However no case has been registered against her and she was handed over to the family members who reached the hospital as soon as they received the information.

Meanwhile in another incident a teenaged girl who was spotted by the locals walking near Sheetal Das ki Bagiya near Upper Lake suspecting to commit suicide after which they informed Talaiya police on Thursday afternoon. Meanwhile following the information the police reached the spot and later brought the girl to the police station for quizzing where she told the police that she was class 10th student and reached there for sparing free time. Later she was handed over to the family members without any action.
