Narsinghpur : A boat overturned, while taking round at the much hyped Panchkoshi Parikrama in Bariaghat. Although nobody was injured, the passengers had to swim and reach the bank of the river. There is a lot of crowd on the banks of the river because of Kartik Purnima, which was observed on Thursday.
While many devotees believe a plunge in the Narmada waters as auspicious, and then take a round of Satdhara, Chanwarpatha’s Ramghat and Bariaghat and come back at Bariaghat.
A good number of devotees came to the ghat from Sagar and Damoh with Kanwariya, in which they will take the waters, and then go to Bandakpur to put that water on shivlings made out of mud.
It is said that the boat overturned because the group of passengers on the boat went off the balance.
The boat had around 20 passengers on it, when the incident happened. The police has termed the incident as a minor accident.
