BHOPAL :  Doctors and staff members of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Center (BMHRC) have refused to withdraw their protest on Saturday even after collector Nishant Warwade asked them to put off their protest in view of World Hindi Convention.

Collector Warbade asked the doctors and staffers to put off their protest till September 12 as BMHRC will be looking after the VIP cases during the convention.

The members of BMHRC employee association and Doctors Welfare association has decided that they will continue their protest after working hours and will not stop until their demands are fulfilled. Dr. Lalit Kumar, president, Doctors Welfare Association said that they tried to contact ICMR but they do not seem to pay any heed to the issues of the staff and doctors. “The BMHRC management has turned silent and has even refused to talk to us. ICMR initially assured them that their issue will be resolved as soon as possible but they have also stopped replying us”, said Dr. Lalit.

The staff and doctors have strongly condemned the non-responsive behavior of the management and said that they will not stop their protest for anything. “When government is not listening to our problems, we will also not listen to them. As for the question of being on duty for treatment of any VIP patient, we are protesting after the working hours, only to not make any patient suffer”, said Dr. Shashikant Sharma, president, BMHRC Employee Association.
