BHOPAL : Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) swung into action after a complaint was filed on CM Helpline about encroachment on 80-ft Road, Prabhat Petrol Pump, Piplani, Nizzamuddin Colony, Bhopal Talkies to Railway station which were made encroachment free previously under the same drive.
The 80-ft road area is under Narela Vidhan Sabha constituency while Piplani and Nizzamuddin colony are under Govindpura and Bhopal Talkies to Railway station is under Bhopal North Vidhan Sabha constituency.
MLAs of these Vidhan Sabha already have protested the way BMC is removing encroachment without rehabilitation.
Earlier, District administration with Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) continued its anti-encroachment drive in Bairagarh, Halalpur, and Lalghati on Wednesday. The drive was carried on amidst protest. The drive will continue till January 23. It was the 5th day of anti-encroachment drive.
Sheds, kiosks, tin-sheets, counters were removed. Similarly, encroachments from public places were removed. Pucca house was dismantled behind a masjid at Lalghati and family members were shifted to Vajpayee Nagar and a store room was demolished at the same place.
BMC team removed the sheds from shops at Halalpur Bus Stand. Encroachment by the four Marbles shops owners was removed. Encroachment was removed from Bairgarh Nakka to Sabbji Mandi. On the both side of the roads, vendors had installed their kiosks and made the encroachment posing problems to road users. Even common man could not venture out driving their vehicles.
