BHOPAL :  Director general of police (DGP), railway, Maithilisharan Gupta has formed four teams which will investigate under the supervision of SP (rail), Bhopal division Awadhesh Goswami to nab those miscreants who had thrown a 29-year-old woman off the running Malwa Express near Karonda station near Bina as she resisted their robbery attempt during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Gupta has also given a deadline of three days to complete the task otherwise strict action might be taken against SP Goswami and the teams’ member GRP personnel in case of failure to nab the miscreants.

The four teams including as many as eight GRP personnel were working almost round the clock to get clue of those miscreants and the habitual criminals of Lalitpur, Jhansi, Bina and Vidisha districts were being quizzed.

On Friday, the statement of Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) Hari Singh Chaddhar who was on duty in Malwa Express down train on the night of the incident has been registered by GRP personnel and a case of loot and attempt to murder has been registered against both the miscreants who threw the girl off the running train.

Meanwhile, the victim Rati Tripathi, 29, daughter of Mahendranath Tripathi, who hails from Kanpur and was travelling from Delhi to Ujjain, is still in coma and did not regain her consciousness at Bansal Hospital in the state capital where she was undergoing treatment on Friday therefore her statements could not be recorded.

Neuro Surgeon of Bansal hospital Dr. Nitin Garg said in a medical bulletin that the girl may have to stay in the ICU for two more weeks.

Meanwhile, the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced that the state government will meet the entire medical expenses of the girl.

The parents and other family members of the victim woman including Mahendra (father), Mithya (mother) and brothers Sanjay and Aadhyatm called a press briefing at Bansal Hospital in Shahpura on Friday evening. They demanded that those miscreants should be convicted to death penalty for the barbaric act.    They also alleged that it was sheer negligence of railway department, GRP and doctors who attended her at Bina, Sagar and Hamidia Hospital due to which she could not get proper treatment even after 18 hours after the incident. The mother of the woman refused to take the compensation amount of Rs 20,000 from the railway department.

The kin also questioned the role of attending S-7 coach TTE Hari Singh as why did he allow entry to those miscreants from Lalitpur in the reservation compartment and allowed them to sit at reserved seat of Rati saying that they were railway staffer and the TTE even did not pull the chain to stop the train even after getting information about the woman being thrown off by a passenger.

The state government would bear all expenses on medical treatment of Rati Tripathi, who got injured after being thrown off from a moving train. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, terming the incident as unfortunate, said the guilty would be definitely nabbed. He said GRP is taking action as the incident took place inside a train. He said he has sought detailed information in this matter. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, SK Mishra is also taking regular information about the well being of Rati Tripathi so that she could be provided best treatment.
