BHOPAL : A jail guard was allegedly attacked by three bike-borne miscreants at Khanugaon area under Koh-e-Fiza police station on Friday evening.

In the aftermath of incident, the victim cop somehow managed to escape from their clutches and later reached the police station from where he was rushed to Hamidia Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

Town Inspector Koh-e-Fiza Ashwini R Negi said that the victim policeman Haroon (49), a resident of Khanugaon, is a jail guard.

Negi further said that the incident took place at around 7pm while he was heading towards his house after duty. In the meantime, three unidentified bike-borne youths waylaid him and started to beat him. When he raised an alarm, the bike-borne assailants fled on their bike from the spot. Later Haroon reached Koh-e-Fiza police station and reported the incident after which he was admitted to Hamidia Hospital.

The victim in his statement told the police that he was not familiar with the assailants who attacked him and also about the reason behind such an attack made on him. However till now further investigation was being carried out by the police after which a case would be registered against the unidentified assailants.
